Curated by Julie Crooks and a current feature of the Contact Festival, “Ears, Eyes, Voice: Black Canadian Photojournalists 1970s – 1990s” is an exhibit that brings together important visual works by Black Canadian Photojournalists, Jules Elder, Eddie Grant, Diane Liverpool, Al Peabody and Jim Russell. Their combined archive reveals a comprehensive and rare record that visually documents over three decades of stories that tell the important history of Toronto’s diverse Black communities.
